Berkovits, Eliezer

(1900-92)
   American theologian. Born in Oradea, Transylvania, he served as a rabbi in Berlin and later went to England where he was a rabbi in Leeds. He eventually moved to the US and served as a rabbi in Boston. Later he became chairman of the department of Jewish philosophy at the Hebrew Theological College in Chicago. His writings include Faith after the Holocaust and With God in Hell.
